The Chianina is an Italian cattle breed from the Arezzo area, once used as a farm animal and now raised almost exclusively for meat production. It takes its name from the Val di Chiana and is considered a native breed of central Italy, specifically southern Tuscany. It is a breed of ancient origins, known for over two thousand years.
